Citizens’ Requests
If you would like to review any public record held by the City of D’Iberville please download and fill out the following form, posted here as a .pdf, mail or drop it off to City Hall and your request will either be denied or approved and the records made available within 14 days of your request. Request for Public Records
City of D’Iberville’s Policy Regarding Requests for Public Records:
According to City of D’Iberville Code of Ordinances: Ordinance #4:
- Requests for public records should be made in writing and should be clear and concise
- Requests may be for 1 subject matter only
- The City must either produce or deny the request within 14 days of the written requests
- The person making the request must pre-pay for the cost of production and mailing.
- The City must notify the person making the request before the 14 day deadline whether their request will be produced or denied. The City must do so, with enough time for the person making the request to pre-pay for the expense of the request.
- The City must provide the person making the request with an estimate of the cost of the production of materials and any postage cost, within the 14-day period, allowing enough time for the person to pre-pay for those costs. The cost of photocopies is 30 cents per one-sided copy.
- The City must maintain a file of all requests for public records made, all records produced and all requests denied and keep the files for a period of 3 years from the date of the request.
- Denial or approval of a request is under the authority of the City Manager or City Clerk
- All requests, production of records and/or denials must be reported to the City Council at the council meeting following the production or denial of a request and recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
Denial of a request for public records may be made for reasons recorded in Section 25-61-1 et. seq. of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.
