City of D’Iberville receives grant to repair tennis courts

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has pledged $23,100 to the City of D’Iberville to help repair the city’s tennis courts at their recreational complex on Brodie Road as part of USTA’s Mississippi Hurricane Relief program.
With matching funds from the city, the courts will see about $40,000 worth of repairs to its court surfaces, nets and light poles. The tennis courts are regularly used by recreational players, semi-pro teams, high school teams and a small handicapped league. With these improvements the city is hoping to better serve the growing D’Iberville community.
The Mississippi Hurricane Relief program was established to provide much needed assistance to the existing public and private tennis facilities in Miss. and La. that have been damaged by the storms of 2005. The USTA hopes that this funding will ensure continued participation by the citizens of D’Iberville in the sport of tennis.
