PRESS RELEASE
D’Iberville Chief of Police, Wayne Payne, announced the arrest of black male Andre Jermaine Thomas, 25 years of age, of the Gulfport community. Chief Payne said Thomas’ arrest resulted from an investigation his officers completed after being called to Amber Apartments, located on Amber Drive, regarding a complaint of fire.
The complainant/victim called 911 and reported her apartment was on fire and she was still inside! Officers responded to the scene and found the victim had escaped. The victim was able to provide information her son, Andre Thomas, started the fire in retaliation against her. Officers soon located Thomas and took him into custody without any further incident.
Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain imposed a $50,000.00 bond for Thomas. After booking, Thomas was transported to and incarcerated at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center pending an Initial Appearance.
