Sink Hole Found on Central Avenue
Today, [Oct. 19, 2009] Chief Wayne Payne released the following safety announcement: The City of D’Iberville is asking all motorists to avoid the intersection of Central Ave. & Quave Street due to a large “sink hole” that formed earlier today. The City had work crews on the scene within minutes of the hole forming, however, it will take several days before the roadway is repaired… according to Chief Payne. Motorists are asked to detour the area by taking Gorenflo Road as much as possible to ease conjestion at the intersection. Work crews will be working to repair the road as soon as possible.
