10.4.2008: Cultivation of a Controlled Substance

D’Iberville Chief of Police Wayne Payne announced the arrest of Quincy Barbour, B/M 28 years of age of D’Iberville.

On October 4, 2008, D’Iberville Police Officers responded to a citizen’s complaint of “Barbour growing marijuana.” Officers and Investigators arrested Barbour and charged him with Cultivation of a Controlled Substance.

Chief Payne said one of his main focuses is reducing drugs in the D’iberville community.  Chief Payne plans to accomplish this task by joining forces with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. He is assigning one Investigator as a Task Force Agent with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics pursuant to a grant. A portion of the investigator’s salary will be paid through this grant, saving the city money.

Barbour was incarcerated in the Harrison County Adult Detention Center under a $25,000.00 bond set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
