Message from the Chief.

The City of D’Iberville is a wonderful place to work with a family-oriented atmosphere with city leadership that cares for all of its employees and support for its first responders is second to none. The greatest strength of the D’Iberville Police Department is the quality of our staff which is committed to bringing a professional service to the community I love! We are looking for candidates who are people-friendly, compassionate, and have a service-oriented personality. If you have a ready to serve attitude, please consider joining our family. We are always seeking qualified members to join our family of law-enforcement professionals. Seeking those new to law enforcement (Recruits) and those with experience (Laterals). Recruits must pass a physical agility and written test that is held every third Thursday of the month. Laterals start as Patrol Officer 2nd Class then advance to Patrol Officer 3rd Class after field training.

Meet Our Recruiting Team

The mission of the D’Iberville Police Department Recruiting Team is to conduct on-going recruiting for the present and the future of the agency. Team members are available for one-on-one assistance to guide each applicant through the process. Each member serves the team as a co-lateral duty and roles are described below.

Corina Mcswain

Detective Corina McSwain

Detective McSwain has served the department since 2017 and is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division. She assists in administering the agility test for recruit applicants and proctors the written test.

Brian Beckstein

Officer Brian Beckstein

Officer Beckstein is serving the department as a Night Shift Patrol Officer; he began his career in 2020. He is a long time resident of D’Iberville and 2015 graduate of D’Iberville  High School. He attends job fairs and speaking engagements in an effort to provide information about our community and agency for potential recruits.  

Lori Guardia

Lori Guardia

The administrative assistant for the police department, Lori has been with the department since 2018. She will accept your application for processing and ensure that it is complete and notarized. Once your application is accepted, she will provide information on the next step and a study guide for the recruit applicants that are required to take the written test.

Shaunta Ballard

Lieutenant Shaunta Ballard

Sgt. Ballard has been with the department since 2015 and currently serves as a patrol shift supervisor. Sergeant Ballard assists with administering the agility test and is member of the oral interview board in the hiring process.  

Darius Hickman

Detective Darius Hickman

Detective Darius Hickman has served in the department since 2021 and is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division, Detective Hickman is the facilitator for the agility test which is held every third Thursday for recruits. He will guide recruits through each step of the hiring process by providing one on one sessions, giving tours of the building, and setting up patrol ride-a- longs when requested.
